Step 1

In advance: Make Sugar Sheets! Ruffled ribbon roses, 10 each in small for top tier, medium for middle tier and large for bottom tier. You will need 30 strips, 1 x 10 1/2 in., to make all roses. For small, trim 10 strips to 6 in.; reserve 4 in. pieces under storage board flap. For medium, use one full strip. For large, use one full strip and one 4 in. reserved piece. Make roses following instructions and let dry on waxed paper-covered board.

Step 2

Bake and cool 1-layer 6 in. cake (3 in. high), 2-layer 8 in. cake (4 in. high) and 2-layer 10 in. cake (trim layers to 2 1/2 in. for a 5 in. high tier). Ice smooth. Prepare for Stacked Construction. Pipe tip 6 bead bottom borders. Attach roses across front using dots of icing. Attach ribbon around base with tape.
