Curves are traced and perfectly placed to give this cookie design a 3-D look! Cut cookies using the Tree Comfort Grip Cutter. Then use FoodWriter Edible Color Markers to trace the tree pattern and lines, and decorate sections using several shades of Color Flow Icing.
Color Flow icing takes at least 8 hours to dry so you will want to start your projects at least 1 day before serving.
Make cookies. Prepare and roll out dough following recipe directions. Use tree cutter to cut out shapes. Bake and cool cookies.
Trace center tree and draw curves inside center tree. Use pattern and black FoodWriter edible color marker to trace center tree on cookie.
Starting at top point of tree, use pattern black edible color marker to draw curves inside tree.
Draw horizontal lines.
Use black edible color marker and ruler to draw a horizontal line across cookie at base of center tree. Draw lines, 1/4 in. apart, on each side of center tree. Continue drawing lines above and below center tree.
Pipe outlines over drawn lines. Prepare Color Flow icing following package directions. Tint portions black, light and dark olive green, seafoam green and blue. Thin all icing except black, following package directions. Use tip 2, a cut parchment bag, and full-strength black icing to pipe outlines over traced lines and curves. Leave drawn tree shape plain.
Fill in cookies. Usethinned icings in cut parchment bags to fill in sections of cookie in alternating colors. Let cookies dry overnight.
