White Ready-To-Use Decorator Icing - 4.5 lb. Tub is rated 4.476190476190476 out of 5 by 105.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is by far the most disappointing Wilton product I have EVER purchased! I did a wedding cake and cupcakes for a friend of mine. When I first opened the bucket I smelled that chemical smell. I stirred the icing I needed and noticed the smell went away. I tasted it and it was fine, so I crumb coated my cake. The next day I let the icing come to room temp, and stirred just like the night before, but the smell never went away and the taste was AWFUL!! I would've much rather bought a ton of the little cans (which taste MUCH better) and spent a ton more money than this crap! I will NEVER buy this product again. Ruined everything is was put on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like to buy the white ready-to-use decorator icing when I'm short on time or will need a LOT of icing. Otherwise, it's cheaper to make my own, plus it tastes a little better. When I buy it, I will ice my cake smooth with my homemade buttercream, but use the tub for decorating (roses and such). I ALWAYS keep a tub of the red icing in my freezer. Anytime I need red, I will let it thaw enough to scoop out what I need, and put the rest back in the freezer. It's so much easier than trying to get a true red color with homemade icing, without the bitter taste. Well worth the price. The stores don't stock the red all the time, so look for it around Valentine's Day, 4th of July & Christmas.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I am a total novice, but this stuff is thick and greasy, not fluffy in any way, and the flavor is terrible. My co-worker's daughter is taking the Wilton Method Course 1 and frosted a cake with the white ready-to-use decorator icing tinted with blue with white roses. We literally could not eat the cake and my co-workers and I love cake. My Course 1 begins this week and I bought a tub from a different retailer and mine tastes terrible as well. I would return it if it was not required the first night. It is probably ok as practice icing, but that is it. My opinion is no matter how beautiful my flowers turn out, if the cake and icing combo do not taste good, it is a failure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I just made a huge wedding cake for my brother and his new bride. I was thrilled to make it, but I hate transporting cakes. Diasters are at every little bump in the road. Anyway, the reception was in the city, about 40 miles away from my house and it's June and already we're having 90 degree weather. So I decided that I would buy four containers of the White ready-to-use decorator Icing. And do you know what? It was perfect! It didn't melt or it didn't slide. It iced the cakes beautifully, the only imperfection was made by me when I was trying to get the cakes out of the boxes. It was perfect!!! This is definately the icing that I will always use! Wilton, you're the best!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this stuff it is the best thing ever. I always wanted to make roses and tryed using regular frosting not knowing that the frosting had to be thicker. I didnt attempt making roses again until I found this product, now I make beautiful roses ever sence I found "White and ready to use frosting". This stuff has really made cake decorating so much fun. I have made so many cakes for my family and am so proud of my work. My kids love that Im able to make there birthday cakes come to life,Thanks to this wounderful and convienent frosting. I have also used the chocolate frosting and it works just as good. Not only do these frostings work it tastes great to, Thanks, Jessiecakes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I used this while making spider cupcakes. Everyone enjoyed the taste and it was great to work with. I liked how it stayed firm with the tip I used. And also how it kept even after spraying it with your color aerosol paint. People thought that I went out and bought them instead of making them which made me very happy. And I liked the quantity also. I hate messing with those small cans of frosting when you have a big job because sometimes they are from different batches and are different consistency. This was all one taste and one consistency which I loved because then every cupcake came out the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love grabbing a tub of this when I have a few dozen cupcakes or a moderate sized cake to make. Everyone always compliments the taste. (I do add about 1 tsp of Almond flavoring to all my batches) The consistency is always perfect. I've never noticed a foul odor or taste. I would recommend purchasing this item at Michaels Craft Store when they print their 50% off coupons. The price just went up at my local store to $17.99. So now I get the tub for $9. (It used to be $7.50) Still worth it in my opinion. I hate cleaning up after I make frosting... such a mess! My only complaint is the increase in price. $18 is a lot to spend on icing! I would NEVER spend full price. I would just make my own at that point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great frosting if you don't want to spend the time making your own for a really big job. I love that I can get it at walmart, CHEAPER than any other store! By about 4 dollars where I'm at. Also, someone had commented they were saving up for taking the Wilton classes. I know I took my classes at Michaels and generally they have 50% off the classes in the summer (which I just saw at the store) and they have coupons online for 40% off one item, which is what I used to purchase the Wilton Cake decorating class kits! Just thought I'd let you know. They are GREAT classes, definitely worth the time. Especially fondant, it's practically impossible to do without the classes. Thanks wilton!
