Step 1

In advance: Tint fondant: 24 oz. red; 8 oz. each black, skin tone; 6 oz. golden yellow; 3 oz. lemon yellow; 1/2 oz. each blue, green. Reserve 6 oz. white.

Step 2

Make acrobats.

Tint fondant per instructions. Roll out 1/8 in. thick as needed. Attach trims with fondant adhesive unless otherwise stated. Tape 1 opening of top globe closed where mini cake will sit; as you work, keep all remaining holes open by trimming away fondant with knife tip. Cover globes with 2 x 7 in. strips of fondant, using white for bodies, skin tone for heads. Attach with damp brush.

For shirt, cut away front neckline and replace with skin tone.

For hair, attach 5 in. circle; use knife to trim and shape hairline. Use narrow end of tip 10 to cut out eyes; attach. Roll small ball nose and tapered logs for mustache; attach. Use FoodWriter to draw smile.

For arms, roll and shape 1 3/4 x 5/8 in. logs; flatten hand and cut slits for fingers. Attach.

For shoes, roll and shape 1 1/2 x 1 in. ovals; attach. Let individual globes dry on a waxed paper-covered board.

Step 3

Make fondant mini cake.

Tint fondant per instructions. Shape 2-layer mini cake using 1 x 2 in. and 1 x 1 1/2 in. diameter round layers; attach using fondant adhesive.

For bottom border, roll a 8 x 1/4 in. diameter log; attach.

For swags, cut a circle using wide end of tip 10; move tip up 1/8 in. and cut again. Attach around cakes. Use narrow end of tip 10 for ball trims; attach.

Marbleize 3/8 in. ball of golden yellow with red. Shape flame; insert Lollipop Stick. Let dry on waxed paper-covered board.

Step 4

Bake and cool 1-layer cakes and cupcakes. Prepare for and cover cakes with rolled fondant. Prepare Stacked Construction.

Step 5

Roll out golden yellow fondant 1/8 in. thick. For bottom borders, cut 1/2 in. wide strips, 21 and 24 in. long; attach around cakes using damp brush. Cut 48 circles using narrow end of tip 2A; attach to borders using fondant adhesive.

Divide 6 in. cake into 8ths, 8 in. cake into 10ths. Use tip 3 to pipe 2 1/4 in. wide scrolls between marks. Let dry 1 hour. Paint scrolls and borders with Pearl Dust/vanilla mixture.

Step 6

Insert pillar from Globe Set into 6 in. cake only. Slide on people. Attach miniature cake with fondant adhesive. Insert candle. Ice cupcake tops with tip 2A swirl. Insert candles.
