Make cookies. Prepare and roll out cookie dough following recipe directions. Use Santa Claus Comfort- Grip cutter to cut cookies. Bake and cool cookies.
Outline and flow in cookies. Prepare Color Flow icing following recipe directions; tint portions red-red/ black combination (for dark red), red-red/orange combination (for light red), orange and black; reserve some white.
Use tip 3 and full-strength icing to outline white face and dark red hat. Let dry, 1 to 2 hours. Use thinned white and dark red icings in cut parchment bags to flow in face and hat. Let dry 24 hours on parchment paper- covered cake board.
1 DAY IN ADVANCE:
Decorate face. Use tip 2 and full-strength black icing to outline and fill in eyes and pipe dot teeth. Pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch. Use tip 3 and full-strength orange icing to outline and fill in nose. Pat smooth.
Decorate hat. Use tip 16 and full-strength light red icing to pipe zigzag hat brim and pull-out star pompom. Let dry overnight.
