Rated 5 out of 5 by from For those of you that have been searching all along for that store bought cake icing that tastes like Cool Whip and is lightly flavored and just the right amount of sweetness, you've found it. Those of you that enjoy the frosting on those store bought cakes and cupcakes for their airy light frosting can now do it at home. Unfortunately non-dairy whipped icing such as Rich's BetterCream or Presto's Pastry Pride are not available commercially to the general public and they require freezing and refrigeration unlike Wilton's Whipped Icing Mix in a box. It has the exact same Cool Whip taste and is stable enough to decorate with and is certified Kosher. I use this icing from here on forward for ALL my baking and decorating needs. Way to go Wilton!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So tasty and SO SO easy to use. I used it to decorate a princess Belle cake for my daughters birthday. I was told by many people that buttercream frosting would work better but I am not a buttercream fan. I put a cup of water in the freezer and waited until it formed a little ice to be sure it was cold enough. Used my electric hand mixer for a few minutes until there were definetely peaks forming. The cake tasted as good as it looked. Also, this was my first time making such a detailed cake. wish this review would let me attach the photo

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If used for the correct kinds of cakes, this icing mix is the best! No, it doesn't work well with fondant, but I wouldn't really expect it to due to the water. On a completely cooled flour-based cake, it is wonderful. My favorite use for it is for ice cream cakes, though. If you're looking for an icing like Dairy Queen uses on their ice cream cakes, this is the one and it is absolutely fabulous! It is so good that I could just eat it as it is. I also find that it takes food coloring very well. It's just wonderful stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is a must to have. I use it to fill cupcakes and they are way better then any Joe Louie or whoppie Pie on the market. I made sheet chocolate cakes and using the round wilton cut out cookie cutter, i cut out rounds from the sheet cake, put wilton vamilla whipped icing mix (excellent flavour--best ever) in the middle and then covered it with another round. I then covered it with chocolate gnache. YUMMMMYYYY. Everyone loved them!!!!!!!! I love this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I noticed several complaints about this icing in combination with fondant covered cakes but Fondant and water don't go together well. Your fondant will absolutely melt. The same goes for marzipan covered cakes. Use Buttercream icing to do your decorating work. Royal Icing does require water but most decorating is always made well in advance so it will not melt your fondant or marzipan. Or even better use fondant and gumpaste for decorating on cakes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was the quickest, easiest, and most tastful whippped icing, I had ever used!! I even think It was better then some bakeries! I like to use this product because baking could not be easier then this, you just add cold water and mix and your done. I also love that it holds very very well with frosting and decorating!! I used this product for sheet cakes and cupcakes, and both turned out well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I purchased the Vanilla Whipped Icing Mix for a First Communion cake I made for a friend's son. I had a horrible time with it. I followed the directions to a "t". I used it for the piping decorations on top of fondant. When I woke up the next morning, after spending the better part of an afternoon working on it, the icing has slid down the sides of the cake and softened the fondant so that it started slipped and had holes in it. I give this two stars simply because it was fairly easy to take off the cake (because I had to re-pipe all of the borders) and it tasted good. I also liked the glossy look that it had, however, I will never use this product again to decorate a cake. I was disappointed because I had high expectations for this product, due to the fact that I have always had great success with Wilton's other products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought 4 boxes of the for a graduation cake, Horable I will never use this again, My pudding filling holds better shape then the frosting, If your doing this frosting alone no decoration it would be fine but if your going to decorate forget it, I followed directions to the "T" and even tried to thiken it some no luck... just buy a tub of whip cream melt it and youd get the same result! The only good thing it does scrap off easy!
