Step 1

In advance: Make candies. Tint portions of white candy orange, yellow and violet using candy colors. Lighten portions of black candy with white for shades of gray. Using painting method, mold 4 tombstones; mold 3 mummies without pretzels. Mold 1 mummy head only. Pipe 2 hands on waxed paper using melted candy in cut parchment bag; chill until firm, then overpipe back for strength. Also: Tint coconut.

Step 2

Bake and cool brownies, about 1 1/2 in. thick. Mark 4 graves, each 2 x 4 3/4 in. Scoop out 3, about 3/4 in. deep, and scatter crumbled brownie "dirt" around graves and over 4th grave. Adding color details to candies makes them more realistic and much more fun! For large areas of color, it's best to paint the melted candy right in the mold before the whole candy is molded using a decorator brush. Or, for very small details like vines, mouths and messages, melted candy should be piped onto molded candies using a parchment bag with a small hole cut in the tip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made these cute brownies for my godson's 6th birthday party, it was Halloween themed. It was so easy to make, as soon as I had all the necessary candy molds it took me about 20 minutes to make (not including brownie bake time). It was so easy I would do it on a regular basis & it was a huge hit at the birthday party. My godson's mom loved it so much she opted to use it as his cake instead of the cake that was there. My only suggestion would be to make the candy mummies, bones & tombstones the night before so they are completely set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this for a bake contest at work and it was a huge hit. Won first place. I had the best time making it. I also added a few cupcakes around the edge with cakepops in the middle and they looked like barren trees. It was awesome. The hardest part was making the candy, but man was it worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was a big hit!! I made it for Hallowe'en a couple years ago. The only thing I found a little trying was making decent hands to go with the mummy. I had a lot of fun making the headstones but it was a little time consuming as I like details!! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My husband's birthday is on Halloween so I do a theme cake every year. In stead of brownies I made this out of rice crispy treats and it looked great. I also used ground up Oreos for dirt. Huge hit!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So fun to make! It wasn't hard to do, a little time consuming. I love that it looked more difficult then it was to do. I love Wilton ideas and how they show and tell you all the steps. Yum!
