Baking Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F or temperature per recipe directions. Before first and after each use, we recommend hand washing pan in warm soapy water. Your Hannah Montana cake will unmold easily, without sticking, when you prepare the pan properly. Grease the inside of the Hannah Montana cake pan using a pastry brush and solid vegetable shortening (do not use butter, margarine or liquid vegetable oil). Spread the shortening so that all indentations are covered. Sprinkle about 2 tablespoons flour inside pan and shake so that flour covers all greased surfaces. Turn the Hannah Montana cake pan upside down and tap lightly to remove excess flour. If any shiny spots remain, touch up with more shortening and flour to prevent cake from sticking. (You can use vegetable oil pan spray or Wilton Cake Release or Wilton Bake Easy® Non-Stick Spray, in place of solid shortening and flour). Make one 2-layer cake mix according to package or recipe directions. Pour the cake batter into pan, and if necessary, spread the batter around with a spatula to fill all areas of the pan evenly. Be careful not to touch sides or bottom of pan. Bake cake on middle rack of 350°F oven for 40-45 minutes or until cake tests done according to recipe directions. Remove the Hannah Montana cake from oven and cool on cake rack for 10 minutes. While the cake is still in the pan, carefully slice off the raised center portion of the cake. This allows the cake to sit more level and helps prevent cracking. To remove cake from pan, place cooling rack against cake and turn both cake rack and pan over. Lift the Hannah Montana cake pan off carefully. Cool cake at least one hour. Brush loose crumbs off cake. To transfer the Hannah Montana cake to serving board, hold a cake board against cake and turn both cake and rack over. Lift off rack. Hold another board against bottom of cake and turn cake over. Be sure to hold cake, rack and board close together while turning to prevent cake from cracking.

The Hannah Montana Cake is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I used this pan for my daughters Hannah Party. I loved the end result-I posted a pic in Life Celebrations. I couldn't get the lettering smooth so I decided to use a star tip to do the whole cake. It was time consuming, but I was pleased with the results and the look on my childs face was priceless! I made this cake in July 2009 but now feel that if I had to do it again I could do so easier because of all the tips and things I have learned this past year. Make sure to prepare this pan-any shaped pan well-to ensure no sticking so that the "outlines" will come through when you bake the cake. Also I cut a board in the shape of the pan to place the cake on. In my opinion I think this made the presentation of the cake so much prettier instead of placing it on a 11x15 board. For"extra" servings I made 24 cupcakes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I had the same issue as the previous reviewer. I had a hard time getting the lettering smooth so I filled them in using the star tip. I needed the cake to feed more people so I made 2 cakes and made it a 2 layer. I put the Hannah Montana sugar decorations on the side so it wouldn't be plain white. I also covered the cake board with fondant that I marbalized using the same colors (pink, purple, and blue) as the icing on the cake. My 5 year old cousin really loved it. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This cake was made for my niece's 6th birthday party. She had her party at a local ice skating ring. She absolutely thrilled with the cake and I also made 2 dozen cupcakes in the same color scheme. Everyone was absolutely in awe and it certainly made me feel good. I had several mothers as if I would be willing to make cakes for their childrens birthdays. That is the best compliment that one can get. The Wilton shaped pans are the best.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have made this cake a couple of times now. But instead of icing the sides smooth, I used the 30 tip making an up and down motion, giving it a beautiful finished side. And like most of the other decorators I to filled in the letters with stars. The young girls these cakes were made for loved them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Made this for my neighbors daughter. Found that this cake was a lot easier to make than I thought by looking at the picture. She loved the cake when I brought over the cake for the party.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this cake for my 9 yr old sister in law, and she loved it. It was actually not so hard. I did it all with #18 and #16 star tips.
