Make crane parts. Prepare 1/2 recipe crisped rice cereal treats following recipe directions. Press a portion of mixture into large Cut-Out from rounds Cut-Outs fondant cutters to make round crane platform. For base, shape remaining cereal treats into a pyramid, 3 in. high. Front and back sides should be 1.5 in. wide at base and taper to 3/4 in. wide at top. Left and right sides should be 1 in. wide at base and taper to 1/4 in. wide at top.
Melt white Candy Melts candy according to package directions. Use black candy color from garden candy color set to tint 1.5 oz. melted candy black. Use spatula and melted black candy to ice bottom of round crane platform smooth . Chill until firm, 5 to 10 minutes. Position on cooling grid over parchment paper-covered board. Cover platform with melted black candy. Tap to settle. Chill until firm, 10 to 15 minutes. Use a little black candy color to tint 2.5 oz. melted white candy gray. Cover pyramid-shaped base with melted gray candy. Chill until firm, 10 to 15 minutes.
Use black icing color to tint 3 oz. gum paste light gray. For claw bar, roll 3/8 oz. gum paste into a log, 1/2 in. dia. x 5 in. long. For claw cable, roll a gum paste log, 1/8 in. dia. x 3 in. long. Let all pieces dry overnight on cornstarch-dusted board.
For claw fingers, use 9 in. fondant roller with purple guide rings to roll out gray gum paste 1/8 in. thick. Use knife to cut three strips, 1/4 in. wide x 2.5 in. long. Shape into curves and round at one end. Let dry overnight on concave section of large wave flower former, dusted with cornstarch. Reserve remaining gum paste.
