Marigold

The sunny Marigold builds its puffy texture with row upon row of tiny petals. Practice the back and forth motion to gain perfect control.

Step 1

Using the flower nail and a 2 in. square of waxed paper, pipe a tiny tip 101s petal, just half an inch long, narrow at center and curved at outer edge.

Step 2

Try to maintain a continuous back-and-forth motion, moving hand out, then out again, as you press out a circle of overlapping petals.

Step 3

Do three rows of petals, one on top of the other, making each row shorter than the last.

Step 4

Fill center with tip 13 stars. Place on cake board and let dry.
