Lacework is well-suited to wedding, shower and fondant-covered cakes. Usually done in white on pastel cakes, lacework requires nearly perfect pressure control.

Difficulty: Somewhat Difficult

Step 1

Trace lace pattern onto parchment paper, then tape onto cake board. Cover pattern with waxed paper. Using tip 1 and parchment bag, squeeze, pull and drop icing string to outline pattern.

Step 2

Pipe center design and add tip 1 dots.

Step 3

Add outside loops. Let dry for several hours. Carefully slide off waxed paper using a small angled spatula.
