Fondant Ribbon Rose
On Roll-N-Cut Mat or clean surface, knead rolled fondant to make it pliable.
Using Fondant Roller, roll out fondant 1/8 in. thick. Cut a long rectangular strip (for practice, use a 1 in. x 5 in. strip.)
Begin rolling tightly from one end, gradually loosening strip as you roll and as flower gets larger, gathering and pinching bottom edge to shape and secure. Fold under cut edge or pat rough edges with finger.
Petals can be opened slightly using the small veining tool.
For a slightly different effect, soften one long edge of the fondant strip (which will become the rose petal top) with a ball tool on thin foam. It may be necessary to brush the bottom of the long strip with a damp brush before rolling.
For a more delicate look, after rolling the fondant strip, pinch the top edge of the fondant with your fingers, to soften and gently spread the petals out.
