Bench
Instructions:
Step 1
Tint 1/4 package Gum Paste yellow; tint 1/2 package Gum Paste and 2 1/2 oz. fondant red. Roll out red Gum Paste 1/8 in. thick. Cut 2 strips 4 1/2 x 1/2 in.; set on edge in "L" shape for support brackets. Use patterns to cut out bench seat and heart.
Step 2
Immediately use straight-edge wheel of Cutter/Embosser to score heart with quilting lines 1/2 in. apart. Shape 2 fondant ropes 8 x 1/4 in. thick (reserve remaining fondant). Use damp brush to attach ropes to outer edge of heart, leaving 1/8 in. at bottom uncovered.
Step 3
Roll out yellow gum paste 1/8 in. thick. Cut 2 strips 4 x 1/4 in.; set on edge and use pattern to shape bench arms. Cut 2 strips 3 x 1/4 in.; set on edge and use pattern to shape bench legs. Allow all pieces to dry for several days. Roll out reserved red fondant 1/8 in. thick. Cut pads same width as arms, 1 in. long; attach to arms using damp brush.
Step 4
Assemble bench using red fondant adhesive. Attach heart to seat; prop to maintain right angle and let dry for about 15 minutes. Attach "L" brackets to back of heart and under seat; let dry. Attach legs; when dry, attach arms.
Step 5
Finish heart with tip 2 dots of royal icing at quilting intersections. Let all dry. Brush arms and legs with Gold Pearl Dust.
