Baby Bottles

After you’ve wrapped the hidden pillar with fondant, be sure to immediately ”shave” into hexagonal sides. The fondant must be cut when soft to create a smooth shape. After shaving, use an Easy-Glide Fondant Smoother to sharpen the corners on each side.

instructions

Step 1

Cut 4 hidden pillars to 4 in. lengths. Roll out white fondant 1/4 in. thick and attach to pillars with damp brush; trim off excess.

Step 2

To create hexagon bottle shape, using a paring knife, pare fondant on pillar from top to bottom forming 6 equal sides. Trim off 1/4 in. of fondant from top of bottle, leaving hidden pillar extended. Smooth with Fondant Smoother.

Step 3

For bottle caps, shape a 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 in. dome of yellow fondant; cut out center with plastic dowel rod and attach at top of bottle with thinned fondant adhesive. Insert a 6 in. plastic dowel rod into each bottle; pinch top of cap around dowel rod to form a point. For seam on bottle caps, cut 1/2 in. wide yellow fondant strips; score notches on sides with paring knife; attach to bottom edges of caps with damp brush. Remove dowel rod before drying.
