Make $1, $5 or $10 pattern one day in advance. Use money pattern and green edible color marker to trace pattern onto edible decorating paper. Leave on plastic backing and keep in edible decorating paper pouch until ready to use.
Make cookies. Prepare and roll out dough following recipe directions. Use knife to cut out rectangles, each 6 1/2 in. x 3 in. Bake and cool cookies.
Decorate cookies. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Use spatula and icing to ice top of cookies smooth. Use knife to cut out pattern from edible decorating paper and attach to cookies.
Make cupcakes. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cupcakes.
Ice cupcakes. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint copper and small portion black; reserve some white. Use tip 12 and copper icing to pipe swirl on top of cupcakes. Use spatula to ice smooth. Pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch.
Decorate cupcakes. Position candy eyeballs from kit. For nose, use tip 5 and copper icing to pipe dot. Pat smooth. For mouth, use tip 4 and black icing to pipe line. For hair and beard, use tip 18 and white icing to pipe pull-out stars. For mustache, use tip 14 and white icing to pipe pull-out stars. Insert hat pick from kit.
