Make cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cake according to pan package directions. Place on a cut-to-fit, foil-wrapped cake board.
Decorate cake. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint portions black and red. Use spatula and black icing to ice head and triangle section between the wings. Use spatula and red icing to ice inside cavities, sides of cake and body.
Position candy wafers for eyeballs and black candy-coated chocolates for pupils.
