Bake and cool 2-piece cupcake cake and 2-layer square cake (trim
layers to 1 1/2 in. high for a 3 in. high cake). Ice square cake smooth in
rose. Prepare for stacked construction.
Use edge cutter to cut four strips, 3 in. x 10 in., from long edge of light
pink edible paper. Use various heart stamps and pink or purple edible
color to stamp three designs on each strip; stamp right and left
hearts 3/4 in. from strip edge and center heart 3/4 in. from other hearts.
Attach strips to square cake sides with piping gel. Use edge cutter
to cut 16 strips, 1/4 in. x 3 in., from black edible paper. Attach between
hearts and two at each corner with piping gel.
For cake top, cut four
strips, 1/2 in. x 10 in., from long edge of purple edible paper; attach at
edges with piping gel, overlapping ends.
Use punch with scalloped heart insert to cut two shapes from red edible
paper. Stamp heart design with purple edible color. Let dry. Attach
hearts shiny side together with melted candy; let set. Attach lollipop
stick to hearts with melted candy; let set. Insert in cake top.
