Sunshine Stripes Checkerboard Cake

Create a cake full of sunshiny colors. It's the perfect cake design for a baby shower, children's birthday party or any day worth celebrating! Make it using the All Occasion Checkerboard Square Cake Pan Set, the Color Right Performance Color System and two cake mixes!

Bake Cake. Prepare cake mixes separately, according to recipe. Tint batter according to formula listed. Follow the directions in the Checkerboard Cake Pan packaging, using two batter colors in each layer. Bake and cool cake.
Use Color Right base colors and QuickCount color formulas to tint the following shade
- Yellow: One prepared white cake mix + 10 Y
- Tint icing. Follow formula listed to tint icing.
  Use Color Right base colors and QuickCount color formulas to tint the following shade:
  - Yellow: 2 cups white decorator icing + 5 Y
  - Assemble Cake. Stack layers with icing between, alternating color sections from top to bottom.
  - Ice cake. Ice top of cake smooth in white icing.
  - Decorate cake. Place yellow and white icings, separately in cut decorating bags. Starting at the bottom of the cake, pipe a row of yellow icing, then white icing. Continue alternating rows of icing, ending with yellow Use spatula and ice sides of cake smooth.
