Step 1

Make cookies one day in advance. Prepare cookie dough and roll out following recipe directions. Use gingerbread boy cutter from set to cut shape. Bake and cool cookies.

Step 2

Ice gingerbread boy cookies. Prepare Color Flow icing. Tint portions brown, red and green. Reserve some white. Use tip 3 and full-strength brown icing to outline cookies. Use thinned brown icing in cut decorating bag to fill in. Let dry 24 hours.

Step 3

Decorate simple gingerbread boy cookies. Use tip 3 and full-strength white icing to pipe facial features, cuffs, hair and dot buttons. Use finger dipped in cornstarch to pat smooth eyes and nose. Let set 1 hour.

Step 4

Decorate bowtie gingerbread boy cookies. Use tip 3 and full-strength red icing to pipe dot buttons. Sprinkle with red sugar. Use tip 3 and full-strength green icing to pipe bowtie. Sprinkle with green sugar. Use brush to brush off excess sugar. Use tip 3 and full-strength white icing to pipe facial features and cuffs. Sprinkle cuffs with white nonpareils. Use brush to brush off excess nonpareils. Let set 1 hour.

Step 5

Decorate suspenders gingerbread boy cookies. Use tip 3 and full-strength white icing to pipe facial features. Use finger dipped in cornstarch to pat smooth eyes and nose. Use tip 3 and full-strength red icing to outline and fill in shorts. Pat smooth. Attach snowflake sprinkles. Use piping gel in cut disposable decorating bag to pipe suspenders. Cover with Christmas nonpareils. Let set 1 hour.

Step 6

Decorate scarf-wearing gingerbread boy cookies. Use tip 3 and full-strength red icing to outline and fill in red mittens and earmuffs. Use finger dipped in cornstarch to pat smooth. Use tip 3 and full-strength green icing to pipe scarf. Pat smooth. Use tip 2 and full-strength white icing to outline facial features and cuffs. Pat smooth eyes and nose. Use tip 1 and full-strength white icing to pipe stripes and fringe on scarf. Let set 1 hour.
