Make fondant cap, muff, tongue and nose. Tint 18 oz. fondant lemon yellow/sky blue combination (for lime green); 1/2 oz. red-red; 3/4 oz. orange.
For cap, use 10 oz. lime green to make a 14 in. long cone, 1 1/4 in. dia. at wide end. Wrap cone around large round Cut-Out fondant cutter to shape curve. Use remaining lime green fondant to shape a rounded rectangular muff, 4 in. wide x 1 in. deep x 3 in. high.
For tongue, use 9 in. fondant roller to roll out red fondant 1/4 in. thick. Use fondant trimmer to cut oval tongue, 1 1/4 in. wide x 2 in. long. Shape a downward curve and support with cotton balls. Reserve remaining red fondant.
For nose, shape an orange cone, 1 in. dia. at wide end x 1 1/4 in. long. Let all pieces dry 24 hours on cornstarch-dusted board.
Make candy base. Melt 12 oz. blue Candy Melts candy according to package directions. Pour into 8 in. round pan. Tap to settle. Chill until firm, 10 to 15 minutes. Smoother pan side will be the top. Remove from pan.
Make candy snowflakes. Copy snowflake pattern and tape to cake board; cover with parchment paper. Melt 1 oz. white Candy Melts candy according to package directions. Use melted white candy in cut parchment bag to pipe nine snowflakes. Chill until firm, 3 to 5 minutes. Reserve remaining white candy.
1 DAY IN ADVANCE
Prepare cereal treats. Spray one 8 in. round and two 6 in. round pans with vegetable pan spray. Prepare your favorite crisped rice cereal treats recipe, but add 1 pk. melted white Candy Melts candy to marshmallow/ butter mixture before adding cereal. Press into 8 in. round pan. Prepare second recipe as above; divide and press into two 6 in. round pans. Let chill 1 hour; unmold.
For head, use largest (51/8 in.) cutter from 4-pc. circles nesting metal cutter set to cut one 6 in. round smaller. Use same cutter to cut a semi-circle, 1 in. deep, in other 6 in. treat where head will rest and a semi-circle 1 1/2 in. deep, in 8 in. treat where middle round will rest.
Cover treats with melted candy. Use spatula and melted white candy to ice back of each treat. Chill until firm, 5 to 10 minutes.
Place treats, candy side down, on cooling grid over parchment paper- lined cookie sheet. Cover treats with a thick layer of melted candy?. Tap to settle; chill until firm, 10 to 15 minutes.
Make fondant trims. Tint 1 oz. fondant black, 2 oz. kelly green. Use 9 in. fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out black 1/16 in. thick. Use patterns and fondant roller to cut out black mouth, two large buttons and three small buttons (use two small buttons for eyes). Use melted white candy to attach to treats. Let set, 3 to 5 minutes.
For cap stripes, roll out green fondant 1/16 in. thick. Cut eight stripes 1/2 in. wide x 5 in. long. Use piping gel to attach around hat, 1 in. to 2 in. apart (stripes get closer toward tip). Trim as needed to fit.
Prepare arms. Cut black licorice twists into four pieces 3 in. long. Let dry overnight.
DAY OF CELEBRATION
Assemble snowman. Use melted candy to stack and secure rounds on candy base. Let each section set 5 minutes before attaching the next. Use melted candy to attach cap, nose and tongue. Let set, 3 to 5 minutes.
Complete trims. Add some black to reserved red fondant for darker red. Use 9 in. fondant roller with purple guide rings to roll out 1/8 in. thick. For cap brim, cut a strip 1/2 in. wide x 5 in. long. Use damp brush to attach. For pompom, use medium round Cut-Out fondant cutter to cut a circle. Use knife to score fringe lines. Use melted white candy to attach to cap. Let set, 3 to 5 minutes.
Use melted white candy to attach muff to front, six snowflakes to base and one snowflake to tongue.
For arms, use black from garden candy color set to tint small amount of melted white candy black. Attach two licorice pieces at a 90 ° angle for each arm, from shoulder to muff. Let set, 3 to 5 minutes.
