In advance: Make globe Santa. Tint fondant: 4 oz. red, 2 oz. copper, 1 oz.
black, 1/2 oz. each yellow and green; reserve 2 oz. white.
Roll out 1/8 in.
thick unless otherwise specified. Tape top hole of 2 in. globe closed.
Cover 2 in. globe with 4 in. circle of copper fondant; cover 2.5 in. globe
with 2 1/2 x 8 in. strip of red fondant. Smooth with hands; use knife to trim
away excess and clear open holes. Slide globes onto trimmed 4 in. long
pillar from Globe Set. Roll a 1 1/2 in. ball of red into 1 3/4 in. high tapered
hat. Attach with melted candy.
Cut beard using pattern; attach using
damp brush. For hair, cut a 1 x 31/2 in. wide strips; attach to back of head,
trimming as needed. Roll out some white 1/4 in. thick. Cut a 1/2 x 6 in. strip;
attach for hat brim. Roll a 1/4 in. ball; attach for pompom. For mustache,
roll 3/8 x 1 in. long tapered logs; attach. Roll 1/8 in. black ball eyes, 3/8 in. red
ball nose; attach. For belt, cut a 1/4 x 8 in. long strip; attach. For buckle, cut
a 1/8 in. square and remove 1/4 in. square center; attach. For arms, roll 1/2 x
3/4 in. long logs. For green mittens, roll and flatten a 1/2 in. ball; cut slit for
thumb. For shoes, shape two 1 x 1 1/2 in. long ovals. Attach arms, hands and
shoes using red candy; hold in position until set. For mitten trim, roll 1/4 x
1 1/2 in. long white logs; attach.
Bake and cool cupcakes using baking cups from combo pack. Ice tops
smooth. Sprinkle on Sparkling Sugar snow. Insert picks. Attach Santa to
stand with melted candy. Position cupcakes.
