Step 1

1 DAY IN ADVANCE

Bake and cool 6 in. round cake. Cake is two layers, 5 in. high (two 2 1/2 in. layers). Place cake on foil-wrapped cake circle.

Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint portions light and medium rose. Use spatula and medium rose icing to ice cake smooth. Mound icing 1/2 in. high in center of cake top.

Step 2

Make ruffled ribbon rose on cake top. Place cake on Trim-N-Turn Plus turntable. Use tips 1A and 127D and light rose icing to pipe a giant ruffled ribbon rose to cover entire cake top.

Step 3

Make bottom border. Use tip 5 and medium rose icing to pipe bead bottom border.
