Reduced Fat Cream Cheese Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1 box (19.8 oz) fudge brownie mix
  • 3 T water
  • 1/3 c oil
  • 2 T applesauce, unsweetened
  • 5 egg whites, divided
  • 8 oz. reduced fat cream cheese (Neufchatel), room temperature
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • 1/2 t vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom of 9 x 13 Decorator Preferred pan with cooking spray. Stir brownie mix, water, oil, applesauce and 3 egg whites until moistened. Spread brownie mixture evenly into pan. Beat cream cheese with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add 2 egg whites, sugar and vanilla and mix until blended. Pour cream cheese mixture evenly over top of brownies. Use a knife to swirl brownie and cream cheese mixture. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until cream cheese is lightly browned. Cool completely.
