Preheat oven to 400°F. In a large bowl cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix flour and baking powder; add 1 cup at time, mixing after each addition. The dough will be very stiff; blend last flour in by hand (if dough becomes too stiff, add water, a teaspoon at a time).

Lightly grease pan. Press dough into pan and bake approximately 20-25 minutes until lightly browned. Turn out onto cooling rack.

Decorating Instructions:

Ice windows and door smooth with spatula. Ice chimney smooth. Outline windows with star tip #14 string. Outline doorframe with tip #14 zigzag. (To zigzag, steadily squeeze and move hand in a tight up and down motion. To end, stop pressure and pull tip away.) Pipe tip #14 zigzag door step.

Fill in roof areas with tip #14 zig-zag. Trim roof peaks and chimney with #14 zig-zags. Dust roof with sprinkle decorations. Place candy coated chocolates on roof peaks and chimney. Add sugar wafer "shutters" -- cutting as needed to fit. Add ghosts, bats, and spiders, attaching with icing. Tint coconut green and attach with icing. Add pumpkins, attaching with icing
