What did we do for dinner before slow cookers were invented? This prep-ahead Brisket with Cherry Barbeque Sauce recipe is sure to become a favorite of busy Moms and Dads with hungry families to feed!
Ingredients:

2 cups Northwest fresh sweet cherries pitted

2 1/4 cups bottled barbecue sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar firmly packed

1/4 cup water

4 pounds Certified Angus Beef® brisket fresh

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
Makes: Sauce makes about 16 servings; 4 1/2 cups sauce.
instructions
Combine cherries, barbecue sauce and sugar in blender.
Pour water into empty barbecue sauce bottle and shake; add to blender. Blend until smooth.
Place brisket in oval, 6-quart slow cooker, lean side down.
Lightly rub salt and pepper into meat.
Pour cherry barbecue sauce over brisket; cook on low 8 to 10 hours.
Slice and serve with remaining sauce.
Option: Just before serving, place brisket under the broiler or on the grill to caramelize the sugars in the sauce.
