Festive with Food for the Fourth

The fourth of July is filled with many fun things; celebrations, fireworks and of course food. Wilton Industries has many fun products for you to make your Fourth of July party festive with food. You will be rewarded when all of your guests comment on how patriotic all the food looks; it will look almost too pretty to eat and taste delicious. Many of these food ideas are easy enough for the kids to join you in the preparation.

Here are several of Wilton's ideas to make your Fourth of July party to be festive with food:

1. Star Shaped Wilton Wigglers
What you need:
One package (8 servings) red gelatin
One package (8 servings) blue gelatin
2 1/2 cups boiling water
2 Wilton 11 x 7 pans
Wilton's Star Comfort Grip™ Cutter (ideal if the little ones are helping)

Wilton's Nesting Star Cutter Set to make a variety of different star sizes.

How to make it:
1. Pour red gelatin into a mixing bowl. Add 1 1/4 cups boiling water and stir until gelatin is dissolved. Pour mixture into one of the Wilton 11 x 7 pans.
2. Repeat step one with the blue gelatin.
3. Put the pans in the refrigerator and chill for three hours.
4. Put about an inch of warm water into the sink. Dip just the bottom of the pan into the water for about 15 seconds.
5. Use any of Wilton's star shaped cookie cutters to cut the gelatin into star shapes.
Use a flipper to lift the star shaped wigglers on to a plate.

2. Star Shaped Finger Sandwiches
Make sandwiches of your choice and use Wilton's Star Comfort Grip™ Cutter to cut into star shapes. To add an even more festive look, top each finger sandwich with Wilton's Stars and Stripes Party Picks.

3. Festive Cup Cakes
Bake cup cakes in Wilton's flag and star designed baking cups. After frosting cup cakes top with Wilton's Patriotic Mix Sprinkle Decorations and/or Wilton's Patriotic Flags Icing Decorations.

4. Star Shaped Cake
What you need:

How to make it:
1. Prepare cake mix as directed. Bake cake mix in Wilton's star pan
according to directions on box.
2. Let cake cool. Frost cooled cake with white frosting.
3. Use Wilton's blue Cake Sparkles™ to decorate the perimeter of the star. Then use red Cake
Sparkles™ to decorate the next perimeter section. Continue alternating if desired.

5. Festive strawberries
What you need:

How to make:
1. Wash strawberries.
2. Melt Wilton's White Candy Melts in microwave on half power according to package directions.
3. Dip strawberries halfway in melted Candy Melts.
4. Sprinkle Candy Melts with Wilton's Blue Cake Sparkles™.
