A Teen Scream!
Wilton Supplies the Fun for a Teenage Halloween Party
Does your teenager think he or she is "too cool" to trick or treat? Are costume parades for babies? This Halloween, throw an amazing Halloween bash that's fun and age-appropriate. Let Wilton help you plan a howlin' Halloween party for teens with amazing recipes and party tips!
"Halloween is a great holiday for teenagers to let loose and have fun," states Nancy Siler, the consumer affairs director of Wilton Enterprises. "The best part is that great costumes, games and creative treats are simple and so exciting to create."
Spook-tacular Blonde Brownies
The sun has set and the trick-or-treaters have gone home, but you still have
a ton of candy sitting by the door. Don't let all of that candy go stale!
Be creative this year and bake a warm batch of delectable brownies with left
over candy as the ingredients. Teens will adore Spook-tacular Blonde Brownies
baked in Wilton's Mini Ghost Pans with rich and gooey candy pieces in the
recipe, whether served at the party or after Halloween has ended.
Smiling Skull Popcorn Treat
Had enough chocolate? Then create a Smiling Skull Popcorn Treat! A simple mixture
of popped corn molded together with caramel flavoring in Wilton's Smiling
Skull Pan, this creation will be a hit at the party! Decorate the molded popcorn
with rolled out black gumdrops for the eyes, nose and mouth.
Jack-O-Lantern Cookie Pops
When your guests take off their scary masks and head for home, give them a delicious
and adorable party gift! Set in a cutout pumpkin by the door, teens can simply
reach in and take home a delicious Wilton Jack-O-Lantern Cookie Pop! Orange
or caramel-flavored, the cookies are decorated with Wilton Icing Decorations,
Icing Colors and Ready to use Decorating Icing and various candy pieces. Your
costume might be frightening, but there's nothing scary about yummy cookie
pops!
Halloween Party Ideas
- If you don't already own a video camera, then have a guest bring one and make your own horror movies! Split the teens into groups and give them 30 minutes to write and act in a 10-minute film. Supply all the groups with lots of ketchup for blood, fake spiders, eyeballs and makeup! If everyone hasn't "died" laughing then give out an Igor Award for the best horror film of the year!
- Have a neighborhood scavenger hunt! Divide the party into a few small teams and have each group go door to door on your block asking for designated items on a list. Whoever gets all the items first AND makes a monster from the collected goodies wins! Have them find "googly eyeball grapes", a fake spider, spaghetti for hair, a roll of toilet paper to make a mummy, etc.
- Rent a collection of famous horror movies and play some of the memorable scenes for the young guests. Stop the tape or DVD in the middle of the scene and whoever can most accurately finish the scene wins a prize. Have fun with this! Go to the shower to act out the Psycho scene or out in the front yard to finish the opening attack scene from Scream!
