4 Years Old A Barbie Tea Party
Who is the biggest star for young girls? Barbie, of course! And Barbie is the star of this very traditional tea party, where the little girls can pretend they are all grown-up.
Invitations
- Send a nosegay of miniature plastic pink roses and a doily to each of the party guests, requesting the pleasure of their company at a very sophisticated tea party. Write all the party particulars on the doily.
- Send an old-fashioned hand-written invitation written on pink card stock asking them to join a very special party in honor of the birthday girl and her good friend Barbie.
Party Setting and Decorations
- The party should be as pink as possible - after all, it's Barbie's favorite color! For a pink light, put pink cellophane over the windows and replace the regular light bulbs with pink ones.
- Fill the area with Barbie dolls, posters, books and accessories (Her dream house would be great)!
- Set the table with a pink tablecloth, and a pink rose centerpiece. Sprinkle pastel-colored jelly beans over the table. Roll each napkin and tie it with a pink satin ribbon.
Activities and Games
- Create a dress-up trunk! Fill an old trunk or large suitcase with accessories, gloves, scarves, hats, jewelry, high heels and anything else you like. Have the children add to their party clothes with these accessories. A full-length mirror is important so that the children can see what they look like.
- A Barbie tea party isn't complete without a fashion show. Turn on the music and roll out a pink crêpe paper runway. Have each of the guests model their outfit and the outfits of their own Barbies. Have an adult serve as a photographer, taking Polaroids of the show and encouraging the models.
Menu Suggestions
- Serve pink lemonade and tea sandwiches filled with cream cheese and strawberries, ham and cheese, and peanut butter and jelly.
Party Favors
- Let the children take home the dress-up accessories as party favors, or provide some small Barbie accessories to each guest.
Cake Decoration Suggestions
A special Barbie cake is the perfect ending to this delightful party! Use a Barbie Cake pan to make this cake.
