Heritage of Quality
Founded in 1929 by pulled sugar artist Dewey McKinley Wilton, Wilton Enterprises began as a small, family-owned and operated cake decorating school. Dedicated to meeting the changing needs of their customers, the Wilton family gradually expanded their business to provide instructional books and cake decorating supplies not previously available to consumers. Wilton helped to make the complex, European style of cake decorating mainstream in the United States.
Today, Wilton remains committed to the company's heritage of quality and customer service by providing innovative, performance-tested products that exceed market standards. Leaders in Consumer Education
Wilton provides the largest cake decorating classroom in the world with classes throughout the U.S. and Canada, including the Wilton School of Decorating in Darien, Ill., a technical/vocational, educational institution. The Wilton School mission is to provide excellence in cake decorating education for technique mastery and inspiration for creative expression by school graduates. With nearly 2,000 active Wilton Method instructors, Wilton reaches nearly 200,000 students annually, attracting students from around the world.
In addition, the Wilton creative food arts staff provides consumers with endless creative recipes, decorating ideas and technique instruction through books, catalogues and online.
Continued Growth: Wilton Industries
Steady growth and an expanded product mix allowed Wilton to acquire Copco in 1983 and Rowoco in 1991 to form Wilton Industries, Inc. The Weston Gallery was launched in 1989. Wovo, a serveware company, was created in January 2002.
Each Wilton Industries, Inc., division is a recognized leader in its market. Wilton Enterprises has been the number one preferred brand name in baking and cake decorating products for over 50 years, with the first product sold in 1947.
