February is Library Lovers' Month
Library lovers' month is the perfect time for those of us who love to bake to find new recipes and get new ideas. What better place to find them than the local library? Libraries often have a surprisingly wide array of cookbooks and cooking magazines to browse through. What better way to get out of the "making the same old thing" rut than thumbing through different cookbooks and see what catches your eye? Ask the local librarian if old Wilton Yearbooks are available. Yearbooks contain pages and pages of colored photographs of cake decorating ideas for a variety of occasions. The current Yearbook is available through our online store or at a local Wilton retailer.
Use the Wilton Yearbook to find products for cake decorating, cookie and candy making, cake pans, muffin tins, and seasonal products. Use the book pan to create your own version of a favorite book. Make a family scrapbook using the book pan and add some laminated pictures of the family. Try making a cake to resemble a favorite story character using a pan such as Scooby-Doo™, Winnie the Pooh, Mickey, Elmo or Thomas & Friends™. Have your children assist you in making these recipes. They will learn valuable lessons on reading, following directions, and of course baking and decorating. For a great snack while reading, have some decorated cupcakes using Wilton baking cups, muffin pans, icing decorations, sprinkles, Sparkles™ or colored sugars. To order a Wilton Yearbook or simply browse, go to www.wiltonyearbook.com.
