Snickerdoodles
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
- 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- Easy-Add vanilla extract Add to shopping list vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Instructions:
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Step 2
In large bowl, cream shortening, butter and 1½ cups sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
Step 3
Sift dry ingredients together and add to the shortening mixture; mix well.
Step 4
Roll dough into balls the size of small walnuts. In small bowl, combine ¼ cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll cookie dough balls in mixture.
Step 5
Place 2 inches apart on the ungreased cookie pan. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned, but still soft. Remove from pan to cooling grid; cool completely
