Chocolate Orange Cupcakes
If you’ve never tasted these flavors together, it’s time to try our Chocolate Orange Cupcakes. The orange enhances the cocoa flavor, while adding a great aroma.
1 pkg (18.25 ounces) chocolate cake mix
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/3 cups water
1 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 teaspoons orange zest grated
Makes about 18 standard cupcakes. Each cupcake serves 1.
Preheat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, combine cake mix and cocoa. Add eggs, water, mayonnaise and zest; beat with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl frequently. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 18-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely before decorating with icing.
