Chocolate Banana Cake

It’s like a banana split without the ice cream! Chocolate Banana Cake begins with banana bread baked in our Fanci-FillTM pan. The baked-in “tunnel” is filled with a creamy, chocolaty filling and fresh sliced bananas!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg banana bread mix 14 ounces
  • 2 cups Frozen whipped topping thawed
  • 1/2 cup chocolate pudding prepared
  • 1 cup banana slices fresh
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 6 squares (6 ounces) bittersweet chocolate chopped

Makes: Cake serves 8- 10.


instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray both Fanci-Fill™ pans with vegetable pan spray.

Prepare bread mix following package directions. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.

Bake 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely.

In medium bowl, fold whipped topping into pudding. Fill cavities of cooled cakes with mixture; top with banana slices.

Assemble cake by inverting top layer onto bottom layer. Chill until ready to ice.

Heat cream and butter in a microwave safe bowl until bubbling.

Add chopped chocolate and stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.

Let stand at room temperature 1 hour to cool. Spread mixture evenly over cake.
