Two to three days in advance: Make
cookies. Prepare dough.
Tint 1/4 of recipe
each pink, blue and green; reserve
1/4 plain. Roll out dough 1/8 in. thick as
needed. Use tinted dough for front, back
and side panels; use plain dough for roof.
For each house, cut front using house
cutter from set. Cut and remove: eave
overhang using knife, round window near
top using narrow end of tip 1A; square
window 1/2 in. up from bottom using
smallest square Cut-Out. Cut house back
using house cutter. Cut and remove eave
overhang using knife; three windows
using smallest square Cut-Out; cut one
near top and two 1/4 in. apart and 1/2 in.
up from bottom. Cut two side panels
(use largest square Cut-Out); trim off
1/4 in. from bottom. Cut and remove: 5/8 x
1 1/8 in. wide windows in both (use knife)
1/2 in. up from bottom. Use pattern to
cut two roof panels.
Line cookie sheet
with Parchment Paper. Bake and cool
all cookies. Also: Decorate cookies with
royal icing and let dry before assembly.
Outline windows, one at a time, using
tip 3. Position Sugar Pearls. Outline 5/8 x
1 1/8 in. door with 1/4 in. square window.
Fill in with icing and pat smooth with
finger dipped in cornstarch. Use icing to
attach Sugar Pearl trim and door knob.
Pipe icicles on bottom sills of windows;
immediately sprinkle with Sparkling
Sugar. Place roof panels on Cooling Grid
set over Cookie Sheet. Pour on thinned
royal icing to cover. Let icing drip and set
about 3 minutes. Move to clean sheet
of waxed paper. Sprinkle with Sparkling
Sugar. Use knife tip to clean edges and
redefine scallops. Let dry 24 hours.
Make ice cream cone trees. Make three
or four of each: small, medium and large.
Use knife to cut 1/2 in. off wide end of
cone for medium trees; cut 1 in. off for
small trees. Spatula ice with green icing;
immediately sprinkle on white Sparkling
Sugar. Let dry on waxed paper-covered
Assemble houses and add details using
royal icing and tip 3. Pipe icicles along
front edge of roof; sprinkle with Sparkling
Sugar. Outline eave front and cover side
seams; position Sugar Pearls. Using
scissors, cut 1/3 off pieces of Jumbo
Confetti. Attach to roof peak with icing.
Let dry. Position houses with votives
inside and trees.
