Make horn. Prepare royal icing following recipe directions. Tint a portion violet/rose combination (for
dark violet). On parchment paper-covered board, use tip 12 and white royal icing to pipe a spiral horn,
6 in. high and 1 in. dia. at base, tapering to 1/2 in. dia. at top. Use tip 105 and dark violet royal icing to
pipe six elongated reverse shell curls, 3 in. long, to be positioned in mane to extend off cake. Let
all dry 24 hours.
