Prepare buttercream and chocolate buttercream icings following recipe directions. Tint
chocolate icing black.
Decorate head cake. Use tip 3 and black icing to outline and pipe in oval eyes, 1/2 in.
wide x 3/4 in. high, 1 in. apart. Smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch. Use tip 3 and white
icing to pipe outline highlight.
Use toothpick to mark face area, 4 1/2 in. wide x 4 in. high, starting 1 1/2 in. from base of cake.
Use tip 233 and white icing to cover face with pull-out fur. Use tip 233 and black icing to
cover remainder of head with pull-out fur.
Add fondant details. Tint 2 1/4 oz. fondant golden yellow. For beak, roll a fondant ball,
3/4 in. dia. Shape into a triangle, 3/4 in. wide x 3/4 in. long x 3/4 in. thick. Use knife to indent
opening. For feet, roll two balls, 1 oz. each. Shape into teardrops. Use icing to attach beak
and feet to cake.
