Christmas cookie decorating doesn’t have to be difficult. A simple iced cookie can be jazzed up with a little fondant, like these Poinsettia Pinwheel Cookies for Christmas. Simply cut out fondant shapes and layer them on top of your iced cookie for a 3D poinsettia flower that sparkles and shines. A lovely cookie to gift for Christmas or include with your holiday baking arrangement, these poinsettia cookies also feature Red Colored Sugar, which helps give these fondant flowers their holiday pizazz!
In advance: Make fondant leaves and flower
center. Tint 3 oz. fondant red, 1/4 oz. green for
each treat. Roll out fondant 1/8 in. thick. Cut
red into 2 3/4 in. x 8 in. strips. Use punch with
leaf cutting insert to cut 12 petals per treat.
Brush with piping gel; sprinkle with red
sugar. Let dry on cornstarch covered board.
Use wide end of tip 1A to cut out a green
flower center for each treat. Let set.
Prepare and roll out dough. Cut cookies
using largest round cutter. Bake and cool
cookies. Ice cookies smooth.
