Rated 1 out of 5 by from I was happy to find a square pan set, but I must say that these are not up to the Wilton quality I have been accustomed to for the past 40 years. As a previous poster said, the shape of these pans is all wrong. For making 2 layers per tier, the sides should not be angled. Also, the aluminum is too thin. When I unwrapped the set, I found that the largest pan was dented on the bottom. After one use, the medium pan dented, as well. My older rectangular pans have never dented after 40 years of constant use. The price point ($49.95) is much too high for pans of this low quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought these pans to make a wedding cake for my Nephew and his Bride. I did use the heating core and the cake baked evenly. I didn't let the first cake cool long enough and it fell apart. The next cakes were cooled sufficiently and they came out of the pans beautifully. I look forward to baking and decorating with Wilton products again. I posted a picture of the cake on the Wilton's website. I was pleased since this was only my second wedding cake and the biggest one that I had ever made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I used these pans for my daughters wedding. I didn't want a traditional circle tiered wedding cake for her and the square shapes worked beautifully. I also used a 6" square pan that Wilton offers for the cake topper. Excellant quality, sizes are perfect for large wedding gatherings, or for any wedding size. The 16" square is hard to handle due to the size of it and the weight it becomes but a good strong husband came in handy for the project. Would definately use them again and again!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why one star? Because as you learn more about decorating/layers/tiers and become more professional in your baking/hobby, you learn that square pans with edges that angle outward from the bottom are a HUGE no-no. If you are stacking two cake layers, you need the edges to be straight like this: l l NOT angled like this: / / These Wilton Performance pans bake well (I have 2 sets each of the Wilton round, petal, heart, hexagon sets), BUT THERE IS A MAJOR FLAW IN THEIR SQUARE/RECTANGLE PERFORMANCE PANS DESIGN!!! I strongly recommend Magic Line (expensive, BEST of the BEST), or Fat Daddio's (little less expensive, excellent product), or, if you don't mind being limited on sizes: Wilton's DECORATOR PREFERRED SQUARE or SHEET PANS. Before you buy these, go to the Wilton forums and read more reviews--then make up your mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the Performance Pans, especially the square set. You can make just about anything from the square pans. One thing to know is NEVER put them in the dishwasher. My husband put one in the dishwasher and it doesn't hold up well. I always hand wash, which is a little bit of a pain, but typically I am having to use them over and over so I need it immediately anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I absolutely love these pans! I never have any problems with the cakes sticking in them, and they clean up very easily! They are even rust-proof. I had a leak in my cupboard and out of all my cakepans, all the Wilton "Performance Pans" were the only ones that survived, without a speck of rust on them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Along with a set of pans that are no longer offered, these are the work horse of my pan collection. I have been using a variety of Wilton pans for 30 years and I was taught by my mother who has been using them 40+ years. I prefer buying a set rather than one at a time.
