Step 3

Bake 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on cooling rack 8 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.

Orange Dream Cake is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have made this cake 3 times, twice I doubled the recipe and made a 12 inch cake for a special occasion. All three times it was a total hit. Everyone loves that it is light and sweet but not too sweet. I iced it simply with fresh whipped cream all 3 times. I think a heavier icing would ovewhelm the light orange taste of the cake. I do like to use an orange/tangerine juice blend rather than plain orange juice and I have used the zest of tangerines twice. It's hard to know how much of a difference it made not being able to taste them side-by-side but it's a good substitute when oranges aren't in season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was probably one of the best recipes on the face of the earth. I loved the citrus taste of the orange in the cake. The filling was to die for! It was light, fluffy and oh so yummy. I originally made it as cupcakes for Thanksgiving. I piped the filling into the center of the cupcakes and topped with buttercream icing. Then, later, I made it as a cake for a celebration at the office. It's now almost a year later and I must have made it over dozen times. This has become my most requested cake. I highly recommend this cake's easy and your sweet tooth will thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I first made this delicious cake for my daughter's birthday. She dubbed it the creamcycle cake and declared it her favorite. (The creamcycle name comes from the creamcycle ice cream popcycles.) It is quite easy to make yet people seem very impressed with it and think it quite fancy. It makes a very nice presentation and goes well in a tiered cake blended with some other flavored tiers. The orange goes really well with cholcolate and yellow poppyseed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This cake is wonderful. I have made it two ways. Once with an orange buttercream frosting and once with just the filling between the layers and on the top. Everyone that has tasted it thinks it is great either way. I had a request to make for a birthday today so I better quit posting and bake that cake!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the most often requested cakes that I make for my friends. I have tweaked it somewhat. I have made it with an orange creamcheese frosting, used the filling as the frosting and regular buttercream frosting. The hardest part of making this cake is zesting the oranges.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This cake was easy to make and my first recipe from Wilton. I made this cake for a baby shower and absolutely everyone there just completely loved the cake, and the filling. Then I used the buttercream icing for the decorating, it just made the whole thing delightful.
