First & Ten Football Cake Pan is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very cute idea but you do have to cook it at a lower temp for a longer time or the ends of the pan will over cook while you are trying to get the middle to cook. Easy to decorate but didn't eat the ends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good if you can get it cook right. You must turn the oven down to lie 300 then cook for 45-60 minutes at leaset depending on what type of cake your using. It was eay to decorate and make look like the picture. You just have to have time and patience and make sure you have extra time to make another if needed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I just used this pan for the first time and was a bit disappointed.. I followed the instructions closely but had to bake the cake longer to get it done in the middle.. Once it cooled and I turned it out on a rack, the outside layer was very thick and brown.. It seemed quite hard after awhile.. Is there any way of keeping the outside soft, like other cakes, and still get the middle cooked all the way through??..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this pan. It's great for birthday or football parties. I've also used it as a starting point for a chicken cake. I've stacked it on a sheet cake decorated as a football field and my son loved it. I recommend cutting off the bottom part so it's flat to prevent the cake from cracking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this pan! Made this for my husbands year end football party, the kids loved how it looked. No cake was left over once they cut into the cake. I found with the cake recipie that I used it took a little longer to cook than what it said. With how the caked cooked in the oven, I left it a little offset to make it look like the football was floating after it was decorated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The football pan is great! I have used it several times. I do bake two and put them together and carve to get a rounder football shape! I will continue using this pan in the future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My son wanted a Shark cake for his son's 3rd birthday. A search lead to a page that showed how to make one using this pan. But after raising 2 boys of my own did I own this pan? No. Finally found it at a Michael's store where I live. Baked 2 football cakes using pound cake -it takes 2 mixes per cake. Had no problem getting done as I always start my cakes at 250 and raise temp by 25 degrees every 15 minutes until done. I iced and layered the flat sides together and then sliced some off one side to make the cake sit up. cake was covered with blue stars. One pointed end became the front and the other end the back. The mouth was black icing with white teeth using a leaf tube. I used large wiggle eyes to give it more personality. The top and side fins and tail were made from fondant tinted blue. It was a big hit with everyone at the party but most especially the birthday boy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This pan can be used for many different things. I've done an egg, rocket, and football. The football is a little flat, but still very cute and easy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It worked fairly well and is a "no brainer" to decorate. My only advice is to use a metal core to help the middle bake evenly. Use a box & half of mix.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Used to make the body of the "bleeding armadilllo" for a grooms cake, worked well, I only used one box of mix, I would suggest 2.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I just baked a football cake yesterday. It didn't bake very well. The outsides baked too fast, compared to the middle because the middle is deeper. I decided to make another one, but I set the oven at 325 degrees and put foil around the edges. It took a little longer to bake, but it worked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I used this pan for a few different cakes. The most obvious is a football. I also turned it into Nemo. If anyone is familiar with the band Phish, I also made it into their band's logo. Love it, very versatile!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I used this pan last year to make a cake for Super Bowl. I would suggest baking 2 and stacking them flat sides together then icing to make a more realistic football shape.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from If making this from a brownie mix, you will need two mixes or you will burn it.
