Step 1

Make fondant toppers one day in advance. Tint fondant as follows: 3 1/2 in. ball each of rose and violet, 1 1/4 in. ball each of blue and yellow, and 1 in. ball each of black, gray and teal.

For seed packet, shape 1/2 in. blue fondant ball into a rectangle, 1 1/2 in. x 2 in. Use fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out white fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use knife to cut out rectangle for labell,1 in. x 3/4 in. Use black edible color marker to write ?Seeds? on label. Use fondant roller with purple guide rings to roll out rose fondant 1/8 in. thick. Use knife to trim border for label, 3 1/2 in. Use water brush to attach label then border to seed packet. Let dry 24 hours.

For gardening gloves, shape two 3/4 in. rose fondant balls into two rectangles, 2 in. x 3/4 in. For each, use knife to make four slits on one end, 1/2 in. deep. Use your hands to gently round out fingers of glove. On opposite end, use small dog bone tool from set to create glove opening. Use fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out blue fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use knife to cut two ribbons, each 1 1/4 in. Make a bow. Use water brush to attach ribbon and bow to gloves. Use fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out 1/2 in. white ball of fondant 1/16 in. thickness. Use narrow end of tip 5 to cut out dots. Use water brush to attach. Let dry 24 hours. Place gloves on top of each other.

For watering can, shape 1 1/4 in. violet fondant ball into slightly squared shape with a flat bottom. Use large dog bone tool from set to make top opening as well as a slight indent for spout. Use small dog bone tool from set to indent two spots for handle. Roll out 5/8 in. ball to 1 1/4 in. long for handle. Curve and attach with water brush. For spout, roll out 3/4 in. gray fondant ball into log, 3/4 in. long. Use water brush to attach a flat round piece of fondant to spout. Use small veining tool from set to pierce holes. Use water brush to attach spout. If needed, use paper napkins to prop up spout and handle while drying and place in flower former. Let dry 24 hours. Use fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out 1/2 in. ball of yellow fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use smallest daisy Cut-Out to cut flower and use water brush to attach to side of watering can.

For purple rose, use fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out 1/2 in. ball violet fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use fondant trimmer to cut out a strip, 2 in. x 10 in. long. Fold strip in half lengthwise. Re-open and use water brush to line one side. Close and seal ends. Roll ribbon rose. Place rose on paper napkin and let dry 24 hours in medium flower cup.

For butterfly, roll 1/2 in. rose fondant ball for head. Roll log for body, 1/2 in. x 1 1/2 in. For wings, use fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out violet fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use medium oval Cut-Out to cut out four wings. Use small oval Cut-Out to cut openings. Use fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out yellow fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use small oval Cut-Out to cut out four ovals. Use water brush to wet edges and insert ovals into openings in wings. Let dry on cornstarch-dusted board 24 hours.

For ladybug, slightly flatten 1 in. rose fondant ball. Roll out 1/2 in. ball of black fondant into log, 2 1/2 in. long, and use water brush to attach down center of ball. For head, roll 5/8 in. black fondant ball and use water brush to attach. Use fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out black fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use narrow end of tip 5 to make dots and use water brush to attach body; reserve two for antenna. For eyes, roll two small white fondant balls. Use black edible color marker to draw pupils on eyes and use water brush to attach eyes. Roll out black antennas, 1/2 in. long. Use water brush to attach dots to antennas and antennas to head with water brush. Roll out white fondant log, 1/2 in., for smile. Use water brush to attach. Let dry 24 hours.

For yellow flower, use fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out yellow fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use daisy Cut-Outs to cut out large, medium and small flowers. Use small veining tool from set to create indents in each petal. Dry separately for 24 hours on cornstarch-dusted small and large flower forming cups. Use damp brush to attach flower layers and to attach yellow Sugar Pearl to center.

For gardening spade, shape 3/4 in. gray fondant ball into rectangle, 1 in. x 3/4 in. Shape one end to a point. Use modeling stick from set to create slight indent at wide end and line down center. For handle, roll 1/2 in. rose ball into log, 1 in. long. Use water brush to attach. Let dry 24 hours.

For blue flower, use fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out blue fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use flower Cut-Outs to cut out large, medium and small flower. Allow to dry separately for 24 hours on cornstarch-dusted small and medium flower forming cups. Use water to attach flower layers. Use water to attach blue Sugar Pearl to center.

Step 2

Make cupcakes. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cupcakes.

Step 3

Decorate cupcakes. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint green. Use spatula and green icing to ice tops of cupcakes smooth. Wrap cupcakes with cupcake wraps.

Position toppers.
