This cute little chimp comes to life with easy-melting Candy Melts®! Ice cupcake smooth; attach easy-to-make candy plaque muzzle and ears. The Monkey Munchie Cupcakes are more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

Bake cupcakes in White Standard Baking Cups and cool completely on Cooling Grid.

Prepare Chocolate Buttercream Icing recipe and ice cupcakes smooth with chocolate icing using Spatula.

Melt White Candy Melts according to package directions. Tint small amounts of melted Candy Melts light pink and black using Garden Candy Color Set.

For face, cover Monkey Upper and Lower Face pattern with a sheet of Non-Stick Parchment Paper. Melt Light Cocoa Candy Melts according to package directions and combine with a small amount of melted White Candy Melts for tan shade. Fill Disposable Decorating Bag with tan melted candy. Outline and fill in pattern; refrigerate until set.

For eyes, pipe white melted Candy Melts on Upper Face; refrigerate until set. Add pupils with black melted candy and return to refrigerator until set.

For nose and mouth, pipe black melted candy onto Lower Face. Pipe cheeks with pink melted candy. Refrigerate until set.

Carefully peel upper face and lower face off parchment paper. Position upper face on cupcake; slightly overlap lower face piece. For ears, insert 2 Cocoa Candy Melts half-way into top of cupcake.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from These were a big hit at my son's first birthday party. Adults and kids both enjoyed them. They weren't quite as easy as the recipe seems. I gave myself a break and skipped dying the chocolate black and pink for the facial features. Instead, I piped leftover butter-cream frosting from the big Monkey cake, dying the frosting black for pupils, nose, and mouth. I completely skipped the pink accents on the mouth. They looked great! Also, little tip: Start melting the white chocolate first, then add the light chocolate melts a little at a time. I made the mistake of melting the light chocolate first, then had a really hard time finding enough white chocolate to make the face pieces a tan color. I used an entire bag of white chocolate melts, and they were still darker than I wanted. I also used chocolate butter-cream from a jar.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These were a big hit at my son's 3rd birthday party. Instead of using the templates for the face, I used cookie cutters on fondant. I used a heart shaped cookie cutter for the eye part and an oval shaped cookie cutter for the mouth part . It worked out great for me and saved some time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very successful for my daughter's 2nd birthday! The chocolate buttercream icing is wonderful! Had a difficult time making black and pink tinted chocolate, when I added the dye it would stiffen up and wouldn't melt down again.
