Step 1

2 DAYS IN ADVANCE

Make candy balloon basket.Melt red Candy Melts candy according to package directions. Use brush and melted red candy to make a candy shell, 1/4 in. thick, in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse standard baking cup. Chill until firm, 10 to 15 minutes. Carefully peel baking cup from candy shell. Reserve remaining candy.

Step 2

Make Mickey Mouse hand cookie. Prepare and roll out cookie dough following recipe directions. Use hand pattern and knife to cut cookie. Bake and cool cookie.

Step 3

Cover cookie. Place cookie on cooling grid over parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. Prepare Color Flow icing following recipe directions; thin a portion of icing. Cover cookie with thinned white Color Flow. Tap to settle. Let set 24 hours. Reserve remaining icing.

Step 4

1 DAY IN ADVANCE

Decorate cookie. Use tip 12 and full-strength white Color Flow to pipe curved line at base of hand for cuff. Tint a portion of reserved full-strength Color Flow icing black. Use tip 2 and black icing to pipe knuckle lines. Pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch. Let dry.

Step 5

Assemble balloon basket. Trim two 6 in. lollipop sticks to 5 in. Use reserved melted candy to attach two 5 in. lollipop sticks inside candy shell on an angle, 2.5 in. apart at top ends. Fill candy shell with 1/2 in. of additional melted candy. Chill until firm, 3 to 5 minutes. Use melted candy in cut parchment bag to attach back of hand cookie to lollipop sticks. Chill until firm, 3 to 5 minutes.

Bring candy shell to room temperature. Insert Mickey, Minnie and Daisy Fun Pix into bottom of candy shell.

Step 6

Make fondant balloons. Tint 2 oz. white fondant each leaf green/lemon yellow combination (for green), red-red/Christmas red combination (for red) and royal blue. Knead 1/4 teaspoon Gum-Tex into each color of fondant. Use 9 in. fondant roller with purple guide rings to roll out fondant 1/8 in. thick. Use medium Cut-Out from rounds Cut-Out fondant cutters to cut four balloons in each color. Use knife to cut a triangle, 1/2 in. wide x 3/8 in. high, for each balloon knot. Use damp brush to attach knots to balloons. Let dry overnight.

Step 7

Make fondant clouds. Knead 1/2 teaspoon Gum-Tex into 4 oz. white fondant. Roll out 1/8 in. thick. Use cloud patterns and knife to cut 11 clouds. Let dry overnight.

Step 8

Day of Celebration

Bake and cool 22 cupcakes. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint light royal blue. Use spatula and light blue icing to ice cupcakes smooth. Use tip 12 to pipe a mound of icing on each cupcake. Position cloud or balloon against mound.

Step 9

Assemble treats. Position cupcakes in 23-count Cupcakes-N-More standard dessert stand. Use melted candy to attach balloon basket to top.
