Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow i have made lots of cakes and i like to stack them everytime i did they would either fall over or be totaly lopsided. I went on and found this cake leveler and i was thinking whats the difference between a knife and the leveler. There is a big difference you set the legs on the counter or your tray adjust the hight and glides accross making a perfect cut everytime. Ive used a knife and ive either had one side higher then the other with this perfect everytime you use and you dont have to be a professional to use it perfect for what ever stage baker you are. A baker should not be with out it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This leveler is fairly easy and fun to use. I actually look forward to using it! I've had it a number of years, and it's still in great condition. However, it could use a couple improvements. It isn't tall enough for some cakes, and it's large and somewhat bulky to store. (I ended up hanging it on a pegboard hook in my pantry.) It would also be great if measurements were given. But, it makes cake leveling/dividing much more enjoyable than using a knife or floss, and is sturdy and durable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This is NOT my favorite Wilton product I must admit. It actually did not work to badly up until I made a home made pound cake. Then the blade twisted a little. Not much but just enough to ensure that none of my cakes are now level. And I don't mean they are just a hair off, they are totally not level. I have never been so disappointed as I was when that happened. And of course the only way to correct the problem is to just buy a new one :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have had this leveler for quite a few years and I love it! It is so great for the larger cakes. It works so much better than trying to use the smaller leveler on large cakes which is awkward to do. It has made my life so much easier since I got the large leveler. When I do wedding cakes or larger cakes it is so nice to have it. One of the best investments that I have made. Recommended if you are going to do large cakes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's easier than the traditional methods, but your results won't be very good when using the Large Cake Leveler, especially if you're trying to level a large cake. The blade is far too flexible and always seems to bend and bow, creating a cake surface with gouges or hills in it. I also find the adjustable legs to be a bit of a pain. The blade cuts into the plastic legs and there are plastic strings hanging off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I found this cake leveler to be a bit hard to use. When I would place it on different surfaces (granite top, tile counter, and a flat surface table) it was hard to cut the cakes. It was too time consuming trying to figure out how to use it without destroying my cakes, so I found it easier and faster to use a knife to level my cakes. I may try the new one, but for now this one is somewhere in the kitchen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is another of my MUST HAVE tools! I love this. I have used the small one and I can say that this one works much better. The small leveler is a wire that kind of rips through the cake. The large cake leveler has a serated blade that actually cuts through the cake. The legs have notches that allow you to adust how much cake you remove. It is kind of bulky to store but it is SOOOOO worth it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I have to run this leveler over my big cakes at least 3 times to get the whole thing decently level. I've noticed that the middle of my cakes are always lower that the edges but I guess that is do to the fact that the blade, being so long, will dips down in the middle. Also there is a REAL blade on this thing, I learned that the hard way when I first used it and sliced my finger open. *OUCH*
