Step 1

2 DAYS IN ADVANCE

Make leg and arm cookies. Prepare and roll out cookie dough following recipe directions. Use knife and patterns to cut out two arms and two legs. Bake and cool cookies.

Melt white Candy Melts candy according to package directions. Use melted white candy in cut parchment bag to attach a lollipop stick to back of frog?s right leg, leaving 2 in. extending at top. Chill until firm, 3 to 5 minutes.

Prepare Color Flow icing following recipe directions. Tint orange. Use thinned orange icing in cut parchment bag to cover hand and foot areas of cookies. Let dry 24 hours.

Step 2

1 DAY IN ADVANCE

Make cakes. For head, bake and cool baby buggy cake. Cake is one layer, 2 in. high. For this design, baby buggy wheels will be positioned at top for eyes and top of canopy will be bottom of lower jaw. For body, bake and cool cake in smallest (9 in. x 6 in.) pan from 3-pc. paisley set. Cake is one layer, 1 1/2 in. high. Use knife to trim jaw to fit curve of body. Position cakes on foil-wrapped foamcore board .

Step 3

Ice smooth areas. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint portions black, light and dark red-red, kelly green/lemon yellow combination (for light and dark green).

Use spatula and black icing to ice inside mouth smooth. Pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch. Use spatula and dark red icing to ice eyes smooth. Pat smooth.

Step 4

Decorate cake. Use tip 3 and black icing to pipe oval pupils, 1 in. wide x 2 1/2 in. high, and dot nostrils. Pat smooth. Use tip 10 and dark green icing to outline eyes and mouth. Use tip 1A and light red icing to pipe wavy outline tongue. Pat smooth.

Position left arm and leg on board under cake; use tip 3 and icing to secure. Use tip 18 and light green icing to cover tummy with stars. Use tip 18 and dark green icing to cover head, body, left arm and left leg with stars.

Step 5

Assemble cake. Insert right leg in cake. Position right arm on cake. Use tip 18 and dark green icing to cover with stars. Use tip 3 and light red icing to attach candy-coated chocolate dots to hand and tongue.
