Instructions:
Step 1
Ice smooth and prepare 3-layer 8 in. square cakes and 1-layer 12 in. square cake for stacked construction.
Step 2
Position ball cake on top, ice smooth. Draw baby face, add Tip 3 string eyes, mouth. Fill in Tip 3 mouth and add Tip 4 bead tongue; smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch. Pipe Tip 4 ball nose. Push cookies into "ear" positions on sides; cover face, nose and ears with Tip 16 stars. Add Tip 17 pull-out star hair.
Step 3
8 in. tier: Pipe smooth side Tip 47 band along top edge. Pipe Tip 1D smooth side ribbon. Pipe Tip 8 hands, cover with Tip 16 stars. Attach rattle with dots of icing to side of cake, pipe Tip 16 star fingers over rattle. Add Tip 4 bottom bead border. Pipe Tip 3 dots on sides. 12 in. tier: Imprint cookie cutters randomly on cake; outline using Tip 3. Pipe Tip 4 bottom bead border.
Step 4
Cut two 8 in. square cake boards for lid. Tape together and cover completely with Fanci-Foil. Ice top smooth, then add Tip 1D smooth side ribbon and Tip 3 dots. Pipe smooth side Tip 47 band along edge. Position lid, angled on cake top. Make gift tag; add bow and position on cake.
