Step 1

At least 48 hours in advance: Make fondant scarecrow.

Step 2

Mold 27 pumpkins using painting method. Ice 2-layer cake smooth; divide into 10ths. For fence, roll out white fondant 3/16 in. thick. Cut 10 fence posts 5/8 in. x 4 in. long, and 10 rails, 5/8 in. x 2 1/2 to 3 in. long. Score woodgrain effects using straight-edge wheel of Cutter/Embosser. Trim pieces to fit and attach to cake sides at division points with dots of icing. Pipe tip 6 bead bottom border in buttercream. Insert scarecrow. Attach pumpkin candies and leaves icing decorations with dots of icing.
