Dad’s waking up, so be ready to celebrate his benevolent reign. Use our patterns, colorful icings and a foil-wrapped crown to convert a Little Hero Pan cake into a full-grown champion.

Step 1

Using pattern, cut crown from board; wrap with foil. Trim off hose areas of cake around hands and feet with sharp knife. Ice sides, background and trimmed areas smooth with spatula. Trace pattern with toothpick.

Step 2

Outline dad, robe, lapels and slippers with tip 3. Fill in head, chest, legs and slippers with tip 16 stars; overpipe nose.

Step 3

Pipe tip 3 outline mouth, tip 4 dot eyes and pupils with tip 1 dot eye highlight. Pipe in lapels, shirt and shorts with tip 4 (pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch).

Step 4

Add tip 4 outline coffee and back rim for mug. Pipe tip 4 zigzag mug front (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch).

Step 5

Outline hands with tip 3; fill in with tip 16 stars. Cover robe with tip 18 stars in random colors.

Step 6

Add tip 47 smooth side up robe ties. Insert crown in cake. Pipe tip 6 puffy zigzags for fur; add tip 1 lines in fur.

Step 7

Pipe tip 16 pull-out hair and tip 1 pull-out chest hair. Using light pressure, pipe tip 1 stubble on face. Add tip 1 message. Pipe tip 21 shell bottom border.
