Instructions:

Step 1

Prepare icing. We suggest that you tint all icings at one time while cake cools. Refrigerate tinted icings in covered containers until ready to use.

Make 2 1/2 Cups Of Buttercream Icing:

• Tint 1/4 cup Royal Blue with a small amount of Black

• Tint 1/4 cup Red-Red/Christmas Red combination with a small amount of Black

Step 2

Make cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cake according to pan package directions. Position on a cut-to-fit, foil-wrapped cake board .

Step 3

Use spatula and thinned white icing to ice sides and background areas to edge of web.

Step 4

Use tip 6 and white icing to pipe in background web area. Pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch. Use tip 6 and blue icing to outline web.

Step 5

Use tip 3 and black icing to outline Spider-Man’s face. Use tip 16 and black icing to pipe in stars for eye borders. Use tip 16 and white icing to pipe in stars for eye centers.

Step 6

Use tip 16 and red icing to pipe in stars to cover face.

Step 7

Use tip 21 and white icing to pipe shell border.
