Time to scare up some Halloween cookie treats! Here we’ve made a creeping spider with licorice legs and spice drop feet.

Instructions:

Step 1

Bake and cool cookies.

Step 2

To make spider, use pumpkin cookie. In advance use tip 3 and full-strength green icing to pipe hair on waxed paper; let dry. Position cookie on cooling rack placed over cookie sheet and cover with thinned down black color flow icing. Use tip 3 and full-strength orange color flow icing to outline and pipe-in mouth (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch). Use tip 3 and full-strength white color flow icing to pipe whites of eyes and teeth (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch). Use tip 3 and full-strength green color flow icing to pipe irises (smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch). Use tip 2 and full-strength black color flow icing to pipe pupil lines. Attach hair to stem of pumpkin with full-strength color flow icing in black. Cut black spice drops to resemble shoes and cut 3/4 in. pieces of black licorice for legs. Insert licorice legs under cookie and attach with full-strength black color flow icing. Support spice drops with crumpled tissue until dry.
